Ärenprisen Community Website
Role: Web Designer & Web Administrator
Tools: WordPress, Elementor, HTML/CSS
Project Overview:
The Ärenprisen community association needed a modern online presence to improve communication with its members. Their previous communication relied heavily on manual emails and printed notices, which often led to delays and inconsistent updates. I took on the challenge of designing and building a website from scratch to serve as a central, accessible platform for all members.
My Process:
Research & Planning:
I began by talking to board members and reviewing their communication pain points. Their top priorities were:
Making news and updates easily accessible
Providing a central space for documents like meeting notes and rules
Ensuring that members could quickly find contact details
Design & Development:
Using WordPress with Elementor, I created a clean, intuitive layout that prioritized these needs. I focused on clear navigation, simple structure, and responsive design to ensure the site worked well on both desktop and mobile devices.
Maintenance & Optimization:
Since launch, I have continued to act as the website’s administrator — regularly updating content, monitoring site performance, and implementing technical improvements to keep the site secure and functional.
Challenges & Learnings:
Working with a non-technical audience taught me the importance of creating an easy-to-manage backend so that board members could also update content themselves if needed.
I deepened my experience in balancing aesthetic design with practical functionality, focusing on clarity and simplicity over unnecessary visual features.
I learned how to translate community needs into digital solutions that improve daily communication and reduce manual work.
Results:
A modern, user-friendly website tailored to the needs of the Ärenprisen community
A central information hub that significantly reduces the need for manual outreach
Ongoing improvements and maintenance, ensuring the site stays up to date and functional
